BURBANK, CA — Following a lengthy submission process, God reportedly passed on a young screenwriter’s spec script Tuesday, stating He would love to see what the writer does next.
“While the Almighty thought the dialogue was snappy, He simply doesn’t have the bandwidth right now to develop a character-driven pilot,” said spokesperson Gabriel Winer, noting that God is currently prioritizing other things.
“It’s really not a reflection on the material at all,” Winer continued. “The Lord’s mandate has just shifted strictly toward massive, world-ending IP, so He’s holding off on buying anything original until after the period of tribulation.”
At press time, Winer added that God encouraged the writer to take the project to rival studio Hell, who is aggressively acquiring fresh content for a new streaming platform called "Hades+". The service will reportedly specialize in morally ambiguous content, setting it up in direct contrast with exactly no streaming services in Hollywood.
