LANCASTER, CA — After exhausting all traditional methods of getting a hold of him, the crew of an independent sci-fi thriller held a séance on a dark soundstage Monday to try to reach their executive producer.

“We lit some sage and joined hands around a glowing walkie-talkie to summon his spirit,” said line producer Anika Bledsoe, noting she had already tried emailing his assistant. “We felt a sudden, icy chill in the room, which usually means an executive is nearby, so we begged him to manifest physically and approve a second honey wagon trailer.”

“He did briefly manipulate the Ouija board,” added key grip Curtis Okafor. “But instead of answering our questions about the budget, he just spelled out ‘DEFERRED COMPENSATION’ and vanished back into the ether.”

At press time, the desperate production team was dragging a live goat into basecamp to appease the completion guarantor.
